Real Madrid 4-0 Malaga: Mourinho Wins Third Straight Game

Real Madrid beat Malaga 4-0 in the third round of La Liga 2026/27. Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Arda Guler scored for Madrid. Malaga also scored an own goal. As a result, Jose Mourinho has now won three games in a row since returning to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid made several changes to the starting lineup. Mourinho wanted to manage his squad after a busy schedule. Marc Cucurella made his first official start for the club. Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger, and Eduardo Camavinga also started.

In attack, Bellingham played behind Vinicius Junior and Mbappe. Therefore, Madrid had plenty of attacking quality from the start.

Bellingham Gives Real Madrid the Lead

Real Madrid quickly took control of the game. However, Malaga defended well during the opening stages.

That changed in the 19th minute. Bellingham found the net with a precise finish. As a result, Madrid moved 1-0 ahead.

Just a few minutes later, Malaga made another costly mistake. Goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero accidentally put the ball into his own net. Therefore, Real Madrid doubled their advantage.

Mbappe Makes It 3-0

Madrid continued to attack after the second goal. Then, Mbappe added another goal in the 30th minute.

The French forward finished well to make it 3-0. As a result, Real Madrid scored three goals before the 30-minute mark.

This was also a notable achievement for the club. Madrid had not scored three goals before the 30th minute of a La Liga match since November 2019.

Therefore, Mourinho’s team entered half-time with a comfortable lead.

Real Madrid Control the Second Half

Real Madrid played with more control after the break. Instead of taking unnecessary risks, the home side slowed the game down.

Meanwhile, Malaga tried to push forward. However, they struggled against Madrid’s pressing. They also found it difficult to keep possession.

Courtois remained focused in goal. In addition, Madrid’s defense stayed organized. Therefore, Malaga could not find a way back into the match.

Mourinho then made several substitutions. His main goal was to protect his key players. At the same time, the changes gave other players valuable minutes.

Guler Completes the 4-0 Win

Arda Guler came on late in the match. The Turkish midfielder then made an immediate impact.

In the first minute of added time, Guler scored Madrid’s fourth goal. Consequently, Real Madrid completed a convincing 4-0 victory.

The result gives Madrid nine points from their first three games. More importantly, Mourinho has started his return with three straight wins.

Real Madrid previously defeated Espanyol and Real Sociedad. Now, Malaga have also fallen to the Spanish giants.

Mourinho Makes Strong Start at Real Madrid

The victory highlights Madrid’s strong start to the new La Liga season. The team has shown quality in attack. At the same time, they have remained disciplined in defense.

Furthermore, Real Madrid have scored eight goals in their last two home games. That record shows their attacking strength.

Mourinho has therefore made an impressive return to the Bernabeu. His team currently looks confident and well organized.

However, the season is still long. Real Madrid will need to maintain this level of performance in the coming weeks.

For now, though, Madrid have made a perfect start. Three games have produced three wins and nine points.
